Stegosaurus belongs to the large group of armored dinosaurs. It lived in the western parts of North America about 155 to 150 million years ago, during the Jurassic period. This strange dinosaur was first discovered in 1877 by during the Great Dinosaur Rush. Because this dinosaur had armored plates that seemed shingled, it was given the name Stegosaurus, which means “roofed lizard”.
The dinosaur pendant is gold-silver plated, and hangs from a 46cm (18″) long gold-silver plated chain.
